Funder Focus: Fulbright U.S. Student Program

This workshop is for prospective applicants to the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, which offers research, study, and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to US citizens. Graduate students may apply for Fulbright Study/Research Awards, which provide grants for individually designed research projects, or English Teaching Assistant (ETA) awards, through which grantees are placed in schools overseas to supplement local English language instruction. This workshop is presented by Texas State’s Fulbright Program Adviser, who will provide information about this year’s competition, including eligibility requirements, the campus deadline, and the application process.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program

This workshop is for prospective applicants for the 2019 National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP), for which applications will be due in fall 2018. The GRFP provides three years of financial support for graduate students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), STEM education, and NSF-supported social sciences. This workshop is presented by Texas State’s primary NSF GRFP Coordinating Official, who will provide information about this year’s competition, including eligibility requirements and expected award numbers, and what undergraduate and graduate students can do now to begin working on their applications.
