The President's Associates Membership Levels
Members of the President’s Associates make progress possible at Texas State. Their vision and generosity combine to provide the university with a loyal group of leaders who help direct the future of the institution, while allowing the president to make choices that improve life for Texas State’s students, faculty and staff.

To earn the distinction of President’s Associate, friends and alumni donate an annual cash gift of $1,000 or more to be used to fulfill Texas State University-San Marcos’ commitment to excellence. Their gifts enable the president to make critical funding decisions quickly and decisively as special needs and opportunities arise.

There are four levels of distinction for President’s Associates. Members of the Old Main Associates, named to honor the university’s first building, contribute $15,000 and more a year.

The next two levels of distinction honor significant years in the university’s development. The 1903 Associates, those who donate between $5,000 and $14,999, are named to honor the first year of classes at the South West Texas Normal School, while the 1899 Associates, those who donate between $2,500 and $4,999, are so named in recognition of the year the Texas legislature authorized the school’s creation.

The Chautauqua Hill Associates are members who give between $1,000 and $2,499. This group is named to commemorate Chautauqua Hill, which was part of the original 11 acres of land donated by the citizens of San Marcos to found the school.

Lifetime membership is granted for individuals who generously support the president in perpetuity with a $25,000 endowment.

For information on how you can join these societies as they shape the future of Texas State University-San Marcos, please call the Office of Development at 512-245-2395.
