Office of the President

Greetings from President Damphousse

One of my favorite quotes is: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” That’s exactly what we continue to do here at TXST - build on a strong foundation, dream big, and act boldly to create an awesome future for our university and students.

Not only are we hosting the first-ever presidential debate in the state of Texas this year on September 16, but we will also celebrate TXST 125 — our university’s 125th anniversary. The hopes, aspirations, and hard work of many over the decades have created the TXST we love today, thriving with two campuses, more than 38,000 students, 230,000+ alumni, and research and academic excellence that is changing lives and the world.

I am proud to be part of this Bobcat community where I am inspired every day by our students and alumni and honored to work alongside our talented faculty and staff members. We are truly building the legacy of tomorrow.

TXST's Strategic Vision

Hopes & Aspirations High reminds us of our noble, higher calling to keep students at the heart of all we do.

Presidential Debate 2024

TXST will host the first general election debate on September 16, 2024, in the University Events Center. A fitting tribute to the only university in Texas to graduate a U.S. president, LBJ, TXST will be the first location in Texas to host a presidential debate.

TXST 125 Anniversary

We will officially kick off our university's 125th anniversary on our Founders Day, May 10, 2024. As we celebrate TXST 125 this year with events and activities, we continue to not just look to the future, but work to make it shine brighter.
