EMT simulations using Comsol Multiphysics.
Texas State University at San Marcos, Department of Physics, RFM 2216, 601 University Drive, San Marcos, TX78666.
Comsol multiphysics is a Finite Element Method software package that can be used to solve differential equations, including Poisson's equation. In the Summer of 2013 five EMT simulation assignments were developed for our PHYS 4310 course. The assignments will be tested in the senior Electromagnetic Field Theory course in the Fall of 2013:
2. Eelectric field distribution around a charged disk
3. Electric field distribution around a Sphere in an applied electric field.
4. Induced charge on a metal plate that is in proximity to a point charge.
5. Induced charge on a metal sphere that is in proximity of a point charge.
Brice graduated from Texas State in August 2013.
