The Physics Department has two scholarships that it awards annually. Information is listed below
 
Robert E. and Frances Anderson Scholarship
 
This scholarship is in honor of former chair Robert Anderson. The requirements for awarding of the scholarship are as follows:
 
ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1150 for entering freshmen. Major in physics, renewable for three additional years with 3.5 GPA, taking at least 12 hours, and making satisfactory progress toward a degree as determined by the Physics Department Scholarship Committee.
 
Dr. James R. Crawford Scholarship
 
This scholarship is in memory of former chair James Crawford. The requirements for this scholarship are as follows:
 
Scholarship will be awarded to a continuing undergraduate student majoring in physics. Recipients will be selected by a committee from within the Department of Physics as appointed by the chair. Selection criteria would include but not be limited to: academic achievement, involvement in the department, need, and future academic and career goals.
 
 
In order to receive either scholarship, a student must fill out a Texas State scholarship application, which can be found at the financial aid site.
