Interpreting Nutrition Labels and Navigating the Grocery Store



Healthy eating and exercise are key components towards living a healthier life!

In this workshop, a dietitian from Central Medical Center and the Co-Director of Texas State-Total Wellness Program will discuss the following:

  • What each section of the food label means and how to apply it to your life, 
  • Learn how to interpret food labels and if a food truly is healthy or not,
  • How to find the healthiest choices in the grocery store and how to compare products to find the best option,
  • How to calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) and what it means; and
  • Physical activity options to help you reach a healthy BMI measurement.
