Description of picture

Presenter:
Audio Seminar with Clifford A. Ramirez, Associate Registrar, Pomono College

Date and Time:
Wednesday, June 25, 12 noon- 1pm

Location:
JCK 460

At the end of March 2008, extensive changes were proposed to the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). These changes update, clarify and introduce new regulations. We’ll examine the impact on the way higher education administrators and faculty conduct campus business, and how to stay ahead of the curve.

In this 60-minute session, our expert will cover:

•  A synopsis of the FERPA regulations: Your current responsibilities and why there’s a need for change.
•  The 2008 proposed changes: What they are, and how they impact administrative operations in higher education.
•  The annual notification: Why it’s so important and what changes impact it.
•  Policies and procedures: Why the renewed focus on them and how they safeguard your institution.
•  Training and internal compliance and controls: What are the new training responsibilities the 2008 proposed changes imply?

Registration is closed; walk-ins will be welcome.
If you require special accommodations to participate, please call 245-7899 at least 72 hours prior to the event.
