The historic election of 2008 has created and continued many discussions of race relations in the United States; however, racial discord is still a very real issue in the United States.
There are many roadblocks to overcome before attaining harmony in a diverse society. How do we break the cycle of racial intolerance? Intolerance begets isolation, and isolation shuts off communication and has the potential to polarize our sociey into small isolated factions. Over a period of time, this atmosphere of seclusion spawns more ignorance and more resentment, and the vicious cycle spreads.
In this workshop you will learn:
• how to discern discord caused by intolerance to diversity
• tools for tolerance and how to apply them
• how to respect people who are different from you
• how to become a diversity change agent
This workshop will explore some of the issues in creating a winning formula for a diverse society.
