Workshop description
As supervisors, you encounter a number of different scenarios with student workers. In some situations, you don’t feel that you have clearly defined policies to follow because the employee is a student employee. This workshop will address some of those questions with a review of university policy and procedures. Some areas of common concern are the following:

  • benefits and rights of student employees
  • hiring of international students and job discrimination
  • background checks
  • unpaid training of student workers
  • paid breaks
  • harassment of other employees or supervisors
  • disciplining a student employee
  • terminating a student employee
  • student grievance process
  • future presentation topics from the audience

Registration deadline: Registration is closed, walk-ins will be welcome (JCK 460A, fax 245-8964)
If you require special accommodations to participate, please call 245-7899 at least 72 hours prior to the event.
