Want to let someone else write part of that tuition and fees check for the spring semester or help buy books for your Texas State student? Then read on.

The annual tuition and fees raffle fundraising effort is held to generate funds for the Association’s four scholarships. The raffle is sponsored by the Texas State Parents Association, and tickets are sent to current members, sold during New Student and Transfer Student Orientation, sent to the parents of new students to the university who did not attend orientation and sold at our sales table during special events and home football games.

Each year, ticket buyers have five chances to win. The winning tickets are drawn during Homecoming activities, and parents are notified the following week.

The spring 2008 raffle drawing was held during Homecoming. This year’s Homecoming King and Queen did the honors of drawing the winning tickets during halftime on October 20. The winners are:

• Brittany P. Alderman, Round Rock, $1,500 tuition and fees
• Leslie Gonzalez, Buda, $750 tuition
• Kristen Hyvl, New Braunfels, $250 University Bookstore award
• Jessica M. Martin, Pearland, $250 University Bookstore award

Proceeds from the raffle, after expenses, are transferred to our four scholarships. It’s a win-win fundraising effort!

Tickets for the Spring 2009 awards will be available in May 2008.  And, we've increased the awards! 

• $2,000 and $1,000 tuition and fees award
• $750 tuition award
• $300 book award
• $300 book award

	The winning ticket will be drawn during Homecoming 2008
	Tickets are $5 each or 6 tickets for $25
	Make check payable to Texas State Parents Association
	Proceeds will be used for the Texas State Parents Association Scholarship Fund
