Pulitzer-winning author Jennifer Egan to hold reading, signing at Wittliff

Acclaimed author Jennifer Egan will visit Texas State University for a book reading and signing at the Wittliff Collections on Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. and at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center in Kyle, Texas on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Egan’s notable works include “The Invisible Circus,” which was adapted as a feature film in 2001, “Look at Me,” a finalist for the 2001 National Book Award, and “A Visit from the Goon Squad,” for which she received the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for fiction, the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction and an LA Times Book Prize.

Her fictional short stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, Granta magazine and McSweeney’s, while her non-fiction work is frequently seen in The New York Times Magazine.

Though Egan’s work often defies classification, the intriguing nature of her stories has garnered support from a number of major literary institutions. She has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in fiction and a Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Fellowship at the New York Public Library.

The event at is part of the Lindsey Literary Series and is sponsored by the Department of English at Texas State University, the Burdine Johnson Foundation, and the Wittliff Collections.
