The Texas State AMA chapter accepts the Gold Chapter award.
The American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter at Texas State University has been recognized as a Gold Chapter for the fourth consecutive year during the 35th AMA International College Conference in New Orleans, La.
The Texas State chapter earned its recognition based on the submitted chapter plan and annual report. Reports are judged on professional development, communications, fundraising and community service. This honor acknowledges Texas State for second place internationally.
Texas State also received second place in the AMA Case competition. Teams developed an IMC Plan for Donate Life America and the finalists presented their results to Donate Life judges in New Orleans.
Texas State AMA President Amanda Hepner was selected as Student Marketer of the Year for AMA. Charles Downing received second place in the Northwestern Mutual sales competition. Other awards received included second place in the website competition, sixth place in SABRE and outstanding marketing week.
The Texas State AMA Chapter also received numerous awards for its work with AMASavesLives, which is a program raising awareness for organ donation. These awards included second place in the best video competition, second place donor registrations (fall and spring), best event (fall and spring), second place (spring) and fourth place (fall) total video views, fourth place (spring) and fifth place (fall) Facebook posts, and second place (spring) for total videos submitted.
In addition, Hepner, along with David Tucker, VP of fundraising, were asked to present in a session called "How to be a Top Chapter."
The American Marketing Association is one of the largest professional associations for marketers and has more than 40,000 members and more than 325 collegiate chapters.
