The Balance & Gait Program in the Physical Therapy Clinic at Texas State University-San Marcos is seeking patients to participate in its rehabilitation program for people suffering balance or gait disorders due to a cerebral vascular accident or head injury.
The 12-week exercise regimen supports the clinical education of doctoral students in the physical therapy program and includes:
There is sufficient funding to provide patient scholarships for 10 more participants starting in January. Participants need to be 18 years or older and with an impairment for a minimum of 6 months. Treatments will be twice a week for 12 weeks (Jan. 23–April 27) during the semester. Patients will be registered on a first-come, first serve basis.
