The Texas State University School of Music invites area youth to attend the 2011 Texas State Hill Country Choral Camps next month.
The Junior High/Middle School Camp is July 6-9, and the High School All-State Preparatory Camp runs July 11-14.
“Prominent music educators and master teachers from throughout the state of Texas have been selected as clinicians for the Hill Country Choral Camps,” said Lynn Brinckmeyer of the School of Music.
Each day, students participate in a combination of full and sectional rehearsals. Additionally, they receive instruction on diction, proper singing and other music techniques that will help them be more successful in their singing.
A final concert will be held on the final day of both camps in Evans Auditorium. The concerts are open to the public.
Participants can opt to stay in campus residence halls for the camps or attend daily. Registration and additional information can be found on the School of Music website at www.music.txstate.edu or by calling (512) 245-3399.
