Hoagland to read at Wittliff Collections, Katherine Anne Porter House

Award-winning poet Tony Hoagland will give readings Oct. 15, 3:30 p.m. at the Witliff Collections in the Alkek Library on the Texas State University-San Marcos campus and Oct. 16, 7:30 p.m. at the Katherine Anne Porter House.

Hoagland is the author of three volumes of poetry: Sweet Ruin, winner of the Brittingham Prize in Poetry; Donkey Gospel, winner of the James Laughlin Award of the Academy of American Poets; and What Narcissism Means to Me, as well as Real Sofistakashun, a collection of essays about poetry, all published by Graywolf Press. He is currently a teacher in the poetry program at the University of Houston.

The Katherine Anne Porter House is located at 508 W. Center Street in Kyle. The readings are sponsored by the Therese Kayser Lindsey Reading Series and the Texas State Department of English. They are free and open to the public.
