The City of San Marcos, Hays County and Southwest Texas State University join together to remember the tragic events of the 9/11 World Trade Towers disaster and those who lost their lives.

San Marcos City Manager Dan O’Leary welcomes the particpants to the “Remembrance Day” ceremony at 7:47A.M. exactly one year after the first plane struck the North World Trade Tower. A plaque outsite the San Marcos City Hall memorializes the innocent victims who were taken from us during the first terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

 

San Marcos City Hall’s flag is raised to half-mast during the “Remembrance Day” ceremony by Ken Bell, San Marcos Fire Marshal, and Dennis Gutierrez, Sheriff‘s Deputy, as Rodger Olson, San Marcos Fire Department, and Darren Haverstock, SWT Police Department, salute.
Ceremony participants brought flags and small flowers that were left on a large wreath remembering 9/11. SWT President Denise M. Trauth speaks about "Where do we go from here?"
