SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Jennifer Corner of San Marcos, a student in the master of fine arts program in creative writing at Southwest Texas State University, was selected as a poetry winner in the 1998 Intro Journals Project sponsored by the Associated Writing Programs (AWP).

The Intro Journals Project is a literary competition for the discovery and publication of the best new works by students currently enrolled in the programs of AWP. Both graduates and undergraduates are eligible.

Corner’s winning entry, A Failed Sestina of Marriage, will appear in the fall or winter issues of one of the participating literary journals, which include Hayden’s Ferry Review, Mid-American Review, Puerto del Sol, Quarterly West and the New England Review.
