The New Orleans Saints remain a leader in providing first-rate day-of-game entertainment, both inside and outside their stadiums. The Saints play their first home game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas this Sunday, Oct. 2 vs. Buffalo with several fan-interaction and entertainment highlights.
The Saints football players will run onto the field during pre-game introductions through a "human tunnel" of Hurricane Katrina evacuees wearing black Saints "FAITH" t-shirts. Funds for the New Orleans Saints Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund -- a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization established by Saints Owner Tom Benson -- will be collected outside the stadium prior to the game.
The Saints will distribute 65,000 gold pom-poms to fans at stadium entry points, and the club is encouraging fans to wear black so a "sea of black and gold" can be seen in the stands -- creating a true home-field feel for the Saints.
Entertainment highlights include a pre-game VIP autograph session with actors from the hit television show Desperate Housewives, Star-Spangled Banner performance by Grammy-nominated jazz trumpeter and New Orleans Cultural Ambassador Irvin Mayfield, performance of America the Beautiful by Texas country music star Charlie Robison, and a halftime show by the Texas State University marching band and the world-renowned Texas State Strutters.
