University News Service Director Jayme Blaschke, oversees the release of administrative and student-related news and supervises all communication efforts in times of crisis. He is available to answer questions about the university, direct media to appropriate spokespersons and assist the university community with publicizing events on our campus.

Jayme Blaschke came to Texas State in 2002 as a communication specialist in the Office of Media Relations and Publications. He took over as director of University News Service in 2013. He is a 1992 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.A. in journalism and a minor in speech communications. Prior to coming to Texas State, he worked extensively as a reporter for daily newspapers, managing editor for regional magazines and as a media relations/communication specialist for a large research and teaching hospital. A skilled writer, he is the author of the interview collection Voices of Vision: Creators of Science Fiction & Fantasy Speak as well as numerous articles, reviews and short stories.
