Successful supervision:

5.1  Asks the question ‘Whose interests are being served through teaching and schooling?’

5.2  Facilitates teaching that works for the least advantaged in the school and its community

5.3  Provides the opportunity for students to have ownership and voice in their learning

5.4  Assists educators to develop, enhance and promote school-community relations in teaching

5.5  Pursues questions about why teaching is enacted the way it is, what sustains particular practices, and how to pursue alternatives

5.6  Examines learning in other than ‘deficit’ terms and focuses instead on the wider forces that are interferences to teaching and learning

5.7  Has a paramount concern with ensuring that a socially just curriculum is advance
