To be considered for acceptance into the SRT Program
you must do the following before March 1

  1. Complete and Return the SRT Application Form
    Fill out an on-line application,
    or download and print a paper version (15K),
    or contact us and receive one via snail-mail.

  2. Forward Three Letters of Recommendation
    Letters should reflect positively on an applicant's musical, math/science, audio related, or personal experiences and come from credible sources. Letters should be sent directly to the Director of Recording Arts at this address.

  3. Forward Transcripts
    Transcripts sent directly to the University can not be viewed by us. Therefore, a second copy of any pertinent transcript must also be sent to our office for review. Transcripts should be sent directly to the Director of Recording Arts at this address.

  4. Forward Test Scores
    Either your SAT/ACT scores are on file in the Admissions Office - or - college credit for a higher math class appears on your transcript. See the FAQ for more information.
We encourage you to do the following before March 1

  1. Apply for Admission to Texas State University
    Students must apply for admission (opens in a new window)
    and be accepted to the University. Students who have not been accepted by the University for general enrollment by May 1 may not be considered for admission into the SRT program for the following Fall semester.

  2. Schedule and Complete a Musical Audition
    Use this on-line form,

    or e-mail music@txstate.edu for scheduling details or more information. Students who have not been accepted by the School of Music for general enrollment by May 1 may not be considered for admission into the SRT program for the following Fall semester.
