La Feria del Mariachi 2007

Entry Fees
Since this festival is an educational event, we are keeping the cost down to a minimum. There will be a $25.00 entry fee PER STUDENT.  
NOTE: If a school (high school or middle school) has more than 30 students from one program, the fee will drop to $10.00 a student starting with the 31st student. 

Mariachi Workshops
Saturday, April 28 from 9am to 5:30pm

Classes in Music Theory, Aural, and Mariachi techniques taught by Mariachi Campanas de America, Texas State Faculty,  and some of the best Mariachi teachers in the area.
To keep the classes at an optimum size for education, only the first 25 complete applications can participate in the workshops, so be sure and mail or fax your entry form as soon as possible.   A complete applocation includes the entry form and fees. 

Salsa del Rio Concert
Saturday, April 28 at 8:00pm

A special performance by Texas State's award winning Salsa del Rio

Scholastic Mariachi Competition
Sunday, April 29 at 9:00am

The competition is open to all groups.  
The competition catagories are:

College/University
High School Varsity
High School Non-Varsity
Middle School
Showcase (noncompetitive)

La Feria del Mariachi Concert
Sunday, April 29 at 4pm

Featuring Mariachi Campanas de America
Texas State Mariachi Nueva Generacion
Master of Ceremonies, Alberto Alegre

  As part of your entry fee, each group will receive complimentry tickets for all students, 2 directors, and 3 chaperons.  Additional tickets for the concert may be purchased at the door the day of the concert. 
NOTE: You must participate in the workshops to recieve the complimentary tickets.

All entry forms must be postmarked or received by Monday April 16, 2007.  
NOTE: If you fax your entry form, you must mail a check or money order with your entry fees to be considered a complete application.
Your group will not be allowed to participate in the festival if you do not have a complete application.
