U.S. Ethnic Studies or Women’s Studies Scholarship Application

Selection Criteria:

1. Applicant must have a minimum overall 2.5 GPA.
2. Applicant must be enrolled full-time.
3. Applicant must be pursing a degree from Texas State University-San Marcos with a declared minor in U.S. Ethnic Studies or Women’s Studies.
4. Applicant must have completed at least 12 hours of course work at Texas State University-San Marcos.
5. Applicant may apply for no more than 5 years.
6. Applicant must complete an application, including the two page essay question below.

ESSAY
Select one of the following topics:

1. What do you think is the best approach to infusing multiculturalism into the American educational system and why?
2. In what ways does a minor in U.S. Ethnic Studies/Women’s Studies complement your major?
3. How do you think the knowledge gained with a minor in U.S. Ethnic Studies/Women’s Studies will benefit you as an individual, as a citizen, and/or as a member of today’s work force?
