The "Rising Stars Algebra Program" is an exciting opportunity for students to learn algebra in the 6th grade using the Mathworks Math Explorations curriculum. Students will learn algebra early, preparing them for more advanced maathematics and higher-level problem solving.
Students will need to be entering the 6th grade during the academic school year of 2011-2012 and attend Miller Junior High School in San Marcos, Texas. The main qualification is a willingness to work hard and persevere when faced with challenges. All interested students are invited to apply.

Parent: I give permisison for my child to attend the Mathworks Rising Star Algebra program. I understand that he(she) will need to turn in all assignments, and may need to do extra work to participate in this accelerated program.
Student: I will complete the assignments and actively participate in the Mathworks Rising Star Algebra class. I will alert my parents and my teacher if I find that I need additional help to understand the assignments.
