Friend of Mathworks Professor Chuck Pascoe Has Passed

San Marcos, TX - December 2, 2010

Texas State University theater professor Charles "Chuck" Pascoe passed away November 23rd.  He was a professor of child drama for 29 years and director of children's theater at Texas State for 25 years.

During his years at Texas State, Pascoe also contributed to the Mathworks Junior Summer Math Camp (JSMC) curriculum development.  Weaving in drama and play-acting, Pascoe's methods helped to make the  summer program materials come alive.  To this day, one can observe students hopping along number lines in the annual JSMC that serves over 230 children each summer.

Max Warshauer, Director of Mathworks, said, “We will all miss Chuck so much.  He was a wonderful friend, and inspiration to me and the kids. I loved the way that he combined math with drama, engaging students in doing mathematics in a fun way. One of my favorite songs ever was “United We Stand” from his lovely play Foxtails.
