 "What? Texas State University has a BAR?!" About George's This is George's, Texas State University--San Marcos' bar/music venue. The Student Association for Campus Activities (SACA) has live music AND entertainment there just about every Tuesday and Thursday at George's, which is located down in the Basement of the LBJ Student Center. So you don't have to drive to Austin or San Antonio to see a good show. Since we keep it real, our shows are always free and all-ages. Rock on! Marsalis is the Artistic Director of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York as well as a world renowned jazz trumpeter. In February, the Elephant Room also was named by DOWNBEAT magazine as being among the top 50 jazz venues in the nation. The Elephant Room is the only club in Texas that was named by either publication. - Elephant Room is one of only two clubs recommended in Southern Living's article, "Living it Up In Austin" |
