“How Some Americans Perceive All Muslims” was the title of the presentation that Abdul Hakim Husein, (Middle East/African focus) gave to Roxanne Lee’s Fall 2010 US 1100 classes. Hakim spoke to an audience of 60 freshmen, plus faculty guests.
He was assisted by Yaneth Munoz (International Relations) and Zainu Ferheen Naeem, President of the Muslim Student Association. Phara’s Mediterranean Restaurant in Austin (http://www.pharas.com/index_orig.html) donated some great food, and Hakim served Naena tea, made with herbs from his 104 year old grandmother’s garden in Palestine.
