The Graduate College is organizing the following events to be held on the Texas State campus this fall.
(1) Graduate Information Fair on November 4th from 11 a.m.—2 p.m. in the Quad with LBJSC as the rain site.
(2) International Research Conference for Graduate Students on November 4th and 5th. (November 4: Preconference from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Welcome and reception from 6:00p.m.—8:30 p.m., November 5: 9:00- 5:00 p.m. Special presentations and concurrent sessions).
Specific information will be updated early in the fall semester and the information will also be available on the Graduate College Web site. We believe these events will provide excellent opportunities for current and potential graduate students.

The Master of Arts with a major in International Studies is an interdisciplinary degree that prepares students for challenging careers in government, business, and nonprofit organizations. The course of study prepares students for work and leadership in an interdependent world by equipping them with proficient oral and written communication skills, familiarity with the world's major regional cultures, and technical skills with optional emphases in international communication, computer information systems, industrial manufacturing, and area studies.
The program of study consists of 36 credit hours, including five core courses, five to six elective courses, and either two theses courses or an internship. There are also prerequisites, including successful completion of Economics 2314 and 2315 (micro- and macro-economics) or Economics 5302, proficiency in English and a foreign language other than English, and all prerequisites required by academic departments for enrollment in a required or desired course.
