University Admissions

All students must first be admitted to Texas State University-San Marcos. Please visit the admissions website for more information about specific entrance requirements.

Department Specific Requirements

Students are required to have completed 30 credit hours and have a Texas State GPA of 3.00 to be designated as an International Studies major. Until that point, students will be designated as a pre-major. To apply for full major status, please schedule an appointment with the academic advisor for a needs assessment and discussion of goals and best options. Appointments may be made by calling the Center for International Studies at 512-245-2339.
