Fellowships are awarded to graduate students who have been selected to travel abroad in one of the Center's international exchange programs. Awards vary, but are calculated to cover most of the expenses incurred for travel, room and board, and tuition and fees for six hours of graduate credit during the summer sessions.
Fellowship applicants must also apply for the International Education Fee Scholarship (IEFS) offered by the Study Abroad Office. Application information can be found here.
I was lucky enough to have had the opportunity to participate in the Wilson Fellowship during the summer of 2012. It was a fantastic experience. My fellowship involved documenting, through the use of video, the collaboration between Texas State University and the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Through these video interviews I got to meet so many wonderful people; dedicated Cambodian Teachers, passionate Cambodian Students, and benevolent expat professors. It was inspiring. In addition to my video work, I got to help out in the Wilsons funded DNA lab. The entire experience was truly amazing. I wish I could do it every summer.
