African Student Organization

Purpose:
To learn about and to educate our peers about the history of Africa as a whole. To strive to give back to Africa: our time, our money, and our hearts.
 
Activities:
Pot luck samples of African food, seminars concerning the various countries in Africa, travelling to other schools for African organizational conferences, fashion shows and various displays of African life, clothing, and artwork.
Indian Student Association

Activities:
Activities will include helping new students get oriented, cultural and social exchange and cultural programs.
Japanese Language and Culture

Purpose:
The purpose of this organization is to promote active learning about the Japanese language and culture at Texas State.
 
Activities:
Activities will include film viewing, guest speakers, and field trips. Meetings are on Tuesdays at 5pm in the LBJSC. Elections are held in the fall semester.
LeCercle Francais

Purpose:
The purpose of this organization will be to serve as a gathering of people who are interested in French culture and language.
 
Activities:
Meetings are held every other Wednesday at 5pm. The first meeting of the Fall Semester will be held on September 15.
The Middle East Culture Club
Mr. Amjad Mohammed,
Purpose:
To bring students together from different backgrounds and experiences and have everyone learn and experience Middle East culture in various ways. Having a common interest will bring our members closer together and celebrate the diversity and richness of the Arab culture. Educational and enlightening experiences for out members and the general public occur during our open activities that will go on around campus through the year.
 
Activities:
Field trips to different Arab cultural locations such as Arabic resteraunts, a Model Arab League simulation, food sampling of unique cuisines, interacting with guest speakers, watching Arabic movies/television and listening to Arabic music and an annual festival to incorporate everything done throughout the year.
The Chinese Club
 
 
Purpose:
to continue Chinese language education for Texas State students learning Chinese at Texas State by including native speakers in our activities
 
Activities:
watching Chinese dramas, skype communication, Chinese movies, Chinese board games, fieldtrips that relate to Chinese language and culture.
South Asian Student Association

Southeast Asian Association

Engage the Texas State University student body with events that promote the diversity of the region of Southeast Asia, as well as reinforce the content of classes required for completion of the Southeast Asian Undrergraduate certificate
 
Activities:
Speakers, film viewings, and events that explore the facets of Southeast Asian culture in the past, present, and future.
