MODL 2310 INTERMED MODL I Writing CRN 39815

Continued development and review in understanding and using a foreign language. The TSIE Program will deliver English as a second language instruction in advanced academic writing practices. Critical thinking tasks will be applied to practical writing assignments including summaries, reviews, critiques, abstracts, exam essays, independent scholarly research paper with annotated bibliography and complete reference pages. 3.00 credit hours

 

MODL 2320 INTERMED MODL II Reading CRN 39816

Continued development and review in understanding and using a foreign language. The TSIE Program will deliver English as a second language instruction in advanced academic reading practices. Critical thinking tasks will be applied to authentic reading assignments including academic texts, peer reviewed articles that are part of research, critiques, abstracts. Practice in systematic fundamental reading skill development and extensive reading strategies are included. 3.00 credit hours

 

MODL 1410 BEGINNING MODL I American Culture CRN 39814

An examination of contemporary American culture with an emphasis on the acculturation needs of international students. Cross-cultural communication will be addressed and topics include (but are not limited to): American values/beliefs, technology/mass media, interpersonal interactions, philanthropy and service learning. 3.00 credit hours
