Financial Support and I-20 applicants


Applicants requesting an I-20 MUST provide evidence of financial support for the time of their study
in the United States.  This evidence of financial support demonstrates the ability to pay tuition, student fees, and living expenses.  For specific tuition costs, click here.

What is a financial guarantee? 
A financial guarantee is an official letter or account statement from your bank or financial institution. The letter must include the account balance and date of balance.
You may use any type of account including checking, savings, investment or retirement accounts.

Can financial statements be from more than one account or bank? 
Yes, you may use the combined balances of more than one account, from more than one bank, and from more than one sponsor.

Who can be a sponsor? 
Yourself, your parents, relatives, employer, friend, government or other agency, etc. Contact TSIE if you are not sure what to do.
