1. Complete application form.
- Complete the application form depending on your current status. (see above)
2. Pay application fee of $55.00.
- Send TSIE $55.00 USD (US Dollars) for your application fee.
3. Send your academic records.
- Send TSIE copies of your academic records (high school (secondary) education or higher)
4. Send your financial support records.
- Send TSIE a bank statement or sponsorship letter showing sufficient financial support.
5. Reserve an on-campus room.
- Send an additional $100.00 deposit with your application fee (see #2). Note: TSIE
applicants who are below the age of 21 years are required to live on-campus.
6. Complete a transfer form. (only if you are transferring from another school in the US)
- Send TSIE a completed transfer form. Contact your current school’s International Office to
receive a transfer form and let them know what your plans are.

• What are the TSIE admission requirements?
1. A completed application form.

• What is a financial guarantee?
An official letter or account statement, with balance and date, from you or your sponsor.
• Can the financial statements be from more than one source?
Yes, you can use the combined balances of more than one account, sponsor, etc.
• Who can be a sponsor?
Yourself, your parents, your relatives, your employer, a friend, government or other agency, etc.
• How can I pay the application fee?
- With a check, a cashiers check, a credit card, or money order.
- Make checks payable to Texas State University - San Marcos.
- If paying by credit card, Contact TSIE.
• Do I need a TOEFL or IELTS score to apply to TSIE?
No. For TSIE admission, a TOEFL or IELTS score is not required. However, when applying to Undergraduate
Admissions or the Graduate College, an official TOEFL is required. See English Proficiency Requirements for more details.
• Does admission to TSIE mean admission to a degree program at Texas State?
Admission to TSIE does not guarantee admission to a degree program.
