Jessups is located in the community of Monte Alto in Hidalgo County. Jessups contained seventeen families but they have all moved out of this subdivision and into new housing. The land on which this colonia stood has been bought by the nonprofit agency, Proyecto Azteca, which built the new housing for the residents. Proyecto Azteca will keep this flood-prone land empty.
