Dr. Carroll Lecture and Hispanic Policy Network Hosted Reception 02-16-09
The Department of History, Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society, and the Hispanic Policy Network co-sponsored, “LBJ and the Felix Longoria Controversy: Loyalty, Patriotism, Honor, Courage, and Pragmatism,” a lecture given by Dr. Patrick Carroll in Taylor Murphy 101 on Monday, February 16, 2009. Dr. Carroll is a professor of history at Texas A& M University , Corpus Christi and author of, “Felix Longoria’s Wake: Bereavement, Racism, and the Rise of Mexican American Activism." The event was a success and Hispanic Policy Network hosted a reception following the lecture. Special thanks to all those that contributed in a successful lecture and reception!
