Eligibility requirements for the Honors College depend on a student's status (e.g. freshman, transfer student). Please review the appropriate category for information on your eligibility for the program:
If you have not applied to the university yet, please visit the admissions web site.
Students transferring to Texas State Univeristy must have at least 12 semester hours of course work completed to qualify as transfer students. Please note that the Honors College is willing to give recognized credit for honors courses taken at a previous institution. To discuss the transferring honors credit please set up an appointment with an Honors College Advisor.
To apply for the Honors College as a transfer student, see the Continuing/Transfer Application.
The Honors College recognizes the wide range of experiences men and women gain while serving in the armed forces. We invite you to share your perspective by joining the Honors College. Veterans are encouraged to use the Continuing/Transfer Application to apply regardless of prior college experience. More information about the experiences of veterans in the Honors College, and about courses and events that might be of interest to veterans can be found here.
Note: There is no deadline for Honors College applications. However, to have access to Early Registration, students must be accepted into the College in time to be submitted to the registrar, which usually occurs several weeks before registration.
