Solidad O'Brien, the Lyndon B. Johnson Distinguished Lecturer and Fall 2011 Common Experience Speaker, joined Honors for a welcome reception. Soledad O'Brien is an anchor and special correspondent for CNN/U.S. O'Brien has reported breaking news from around the globe and has produced award winning, record-breaking, and critically acclaimed documentaries on some of the most important stories facing the world today. 

Before giving her Common Experience speech on the First Amendment at Strahan Coliseum, O'Brien was interviewed by Texas State Journalism students.
