Registering for Honors Courses

Signing Up for Honors Courses

Honors courses are open only to Honors students.

Most Honors courses do not have prerequisites, but several of the departmental honors courses do. Please review the prerequisites before attempting to register for these classes.

The Honors College is not responsible for ensuring that you can register during your access time. Please check holds and access times before registration to ensure that you can register during your proper time.

For more information on registration times and holds, please see the Registrar's website, here.

When to Sign Up for Honors Courses

Early Registration

Early Registration is the first day of registration. All Honors students are allowed to register during Early Registration, barring holds on their registration.

To be able to register for Honors courses during registration, students must attend Meet the Professor Night, which occurs every fall and spring, two to three weeks before Early Registration. Students will fill out a form to be granted approval for courses during Early Registration.

Early Registration for Fall 2012 is April 6th.

Regular Registration

After Early Registration, all Honors courses are open to all Honors students. Students do not need to fill out a form for approval.

Regular Registration for Fall 2012 is April 7-22. Students are assigned registration times based on their classifications.

Late Registration and Schedule Changes

If space is available, Honors students are free to sign up for Honors courses during Late Registration before classes start, August 10-11, 13-18, and 20-23, or after classes start, August 27-30. There may be openings in classes during this time as class enrollment tends to change during the first few days of class.
