The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) and Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC) offer professional conferences every spring and fall. Students and faculty can attend these conferences to make presentations and attend sessions about the activities, courses, and events happening in other Honors programs across the country.
Students and faculty who are interested in attending must submit a proposal to Dr. Galloway, Dean of the Honors College, for approval. Please note that there is limited funding for those seeking financial assistance or reimbursement to attend these conferences.
About NCHC and GPHC:
The NCHC website states that it is a professional association of "undergraduate Honors programs and colleges; Honors directors and deans". It is also composed of faculty, students, and staff from Honors programs around the country. Please visit the NCHC website for more information on this association.
GPHC consists of Honors programs from colleges in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. As stated on the website, this association "promotes the flow of information, ideas, fellowship and professional encouragement throughout its member programs." The council also often collaborates with NCHC. Please visit the GPHC website for more information.
