How Does the Honors College Work?

Explore Courses

Students in the Honors College can choose to take courses offered in the College. Honors courses replace certain regular courses for your degree plan. When looking at honors course offerings, the substitutions section will help you decide which course will count toward your degree requirements. If you have a very limited degree plan or want to study topics not currently offered at the university, learn how to get honors credit through our student-designed courses.

Pursue Honors

We offer two academic paths to graduate in the Honors College: the traditional path and the minor in Honors Studies. Students who complete either the traditional path or the minor in Honors Studies will be presented a medallion to wear at graduation, and will be listed separately in the commencement booklet at graduation, along with the title of their theses and the names of their supervising professors. Students' transcripts will feature special designations of their graduation in the Honors College.
