Major contracts are defined as contracts for:

• Non-professional services whose total is expected to exceed $ 25,000
• Goods whose total is expected to exceed $ 100,000
• Lease of space by Texas State

Does not include the following contract types:

• Research (Sponsored Programs)
• Construction related contracts administered by the Facilities Planning, Design, and Construction
• Revenue contracts if other than Interagency (IAC) or Interlocal (ILC) Cooperation contracts
• Personal Services (i.e. guest lecturers, entertainers, etc.) – See UPPS 03.04.01 “Contracted Services, Including Consultants, Speakers, and Other Services” for additional details
• Professional Services (i.e. Medical Doctors, Attorneys, Engineers, Architects, CPA’s, etc.) as defined by Texas Government Code, Chapter 2254 “Professional and Consulting Services”
• Faculty employment contracts
• Lease of Texas State space to other entities
