01. POLICY STATEMENTS
01.01 This UPPS establishes the policy and
procedures for the university’s Ethics Policy.
01.02 The university adopts as its policy the
Regents’ ethics policy as published in Chapter
VIII of the Texas State University System (TSUS) Rules and Regulations and
incorporates its provisions into this UPPS. The Regents' Policy can be found at http://www.tsus.edu/about/policies.html.
01.03 University employees should refer to the
Regents' Policy for ethical questions involving:
a. Anti-fraud policy and reporting of wrongful
or fraudulent conduct
b. Travel expenses and allowances
c. Conflicts of interest
d. Texas
State’s code of ethics
e. Benefits, gifts, and honoraria
f. Political activities
g. Use of official authority
h. Dual office holding
i. Ethical training

02. DEFINITION
02.01 In this UPPS “employee” refers to all Texas
State University employees, including full- and part-time faculty, staff, and
student employees.
03. PROCEDURES
FOR PUBLICATION OF THIS POLICY
03.01 The director of Human Resources will publish a
synopsis of this policy in the Staff
Handbook and annually in the Human Resources Bulletin.
03.02 The provost and vice president for Academic
Affairs (VPAA) will publish a synopsis of this
policy in the Faculty
Handbook.
