What do I need to do to apply?
You need to apply to the Graduate College for admittance. Please see the Graduate College website for application forms, deadlines, and other requirements at : http://www.gradcollege.txstate.edu/
Be sure to write "Educational Technology" as your proposed major in Section A - Seeking a Master's degree.
The Graduate College will then send an application packet to the advisor for approval to be admitted into the program.

Will I be accepted to the educational technology program? What are the requirements?
You must have a 2.75 GPA on the last 60 undergraduate semester hours of letter-grade work earned before receipt of your Bachelor's (plus any previous taken graduate or professional work.) All applicants must have an official GRE General score sent to Texas State. The GRE scores must be received by the end of the first semester of enrollment or the Graduate College will put a hold on your registration. While GRE scores cannot be used alone to determine eligibility for the program, the Secondary Education program and the Graduate College are looking for a minimum of 900 on this test.

Taking Courses
Will all of the Educational Technology courses be offered each semester?
No. At the present time there are not enough students in the program to offer all of the classes each semester. Classes do have a cycle so you will be able to pick up at least 2 new courses in EdTech each semester in addition to any of the EDA courses you are taking.

What classes should I enroll in the first semester?
The program will be set up with entry points in which you begin taking classes at least once a year. If you enter the program during a period when only the advanced EdTech classes are being offered, you may begin by taking the EDA classes (EDA 5339, EDA 5340, EDA 5345, EDA 5348) or the CI 5390 Research Seminar in Education until the cycle of EdTech classes begins again.
