The Ph.D. Program in Education with majors in School Improvement, and Adult, Professional, and Community Education, is designed for individuals in a variety of educational roles who wish to develop and refine their abilities to provide leadership for educational excellence.

The program takes an interdisciplinary approach to educate leaders who will understand the need for continuous school improvement and lifelong learning, and see education in the broad context of the community, the nation, and the world.

Students are admitted into cohorts in the fall of each year and take the first 18 hours of core coursework together. Classes are offered in the evenings or on weekends for the convenience of working professionals. Students can be classified as full-time (9 credit hours per semester) or part-time (6 credit hours per semester). Courses are offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer.
