The Ph.D. program in education, with majors in Adult, Professional and Community Education and in School Improvement, is designed for individuals in a variety of educational roles who wish to develop and refine their abilities to provide leadership for educational excellence.

The program takes an interdisciplinary approach to educate scholar/leaders who work to continuously improve education and strengthen lifelong learning, and see education in the broad context of the community, the nation, and the world.

Students are admitted into cohorts in the fall of each year. Classes are offered in the evenings or on weekends for the convenience of working professionals. Students can enroll full-time (nine credit hours per semester) or part-time (six credit hours per semester). Courses are offered in the fall, spring, and summer.
