Application [PDF] The fifteen semester-hour superintendent’s certification program at Texas State University-San Marcos offers students several advantages:

The course sequence for the superintendent's certificate includes:
- EDA 6347 Seminar in the Superintendency Fall Semester
- EDA 6349 School Finance and Business Management---Spring Semester
- EDA 6345 Managing Human and Instructional Resources---Summer Semester on-line
- EDA 6389 Field-based Practicum---a two semester experience that begins in the Fall and may be taken concurrently with or following other courses in the sequence
For students in the Ph. D. program, the corresponding courses are ED 7347, ED 7349, and ED 7345.
Students may begin course work in any semester with the exception of the field-based practicum which must begin in the Fall Semester.
To be eligible for the Superintendent’s Certificate students must hold valid Texas teaching and principal certificates.
