Climate change, urbanization, and water and energy shortages call for innovative solutions. Dr. Tongdan Jin, associate professor of engineering at Texas State and an expert in photovoltaics and wind power, is up to the challenge. Thanks to a $3.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, teams from Texas State and three other universities are working on BGREEN: Building a Regional Energy and Educational Network. The program prepares students and graduates to develop renewable energy sources that will help put Texas — and the nation — on track to a sustainable future.
