Welcome to the Center for Texas Music History's Interactive Classroom. Here you will find a series of documentary films, each highlighting a different aspect of Texas music history. Through interviews with musicians, scholars, community members, and others, these films document the tremendous diversity of the music found in Texas and the Southwest. Informative, exciting, and filled with music, this series of films will introduce the viewer to an enormous and important cultural legacy.
By simply clicking on the title of a specific film from the group, the viewer may immediately view the films online. Each film has supplemental materials to enhance the viewing experience. Lesson plans for middle and secondary school students are available, as are links to other parts of the Texas Music History Online site that expand on one of the topics or performers mentioned in the documentary.
We hope you will enjoy the music, images, and history presented by this series of films. For more information on the history of Texas music, please visit the Texas Music History Online website.
