The HTML Artwork Internet Explorer Extensions

The HTML extensions described here are supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer. Although we haven't found any other browsers that support them, it is possible that they may gain support as Internet Explorer becomes more popular. The horizonatal rule that follows this paragraph should be red, as it uses the HR COLOR attribute.

Scrolling Text: <MARQUEE>

You can create sections of scrolling text using the MARQUEE tag. To use it, simply place the text that you wish to scroll between the <MARQUEE> and </MARQUEE> tags: Look at me scroll!

FONT FACE Attribute

The FACE attribute for the FONT tag allows you to specify a list of font families to be used to display a section of text. The browser will search the list in order for font availability, and will display the section of text using the first font family that it matches. If it is unable to match any of the fonts it will use the default font to display the text.

In our example, we use a fake font name to illustrate the search capability. It is unable to find the font "FindMeIfYouCan" so it uses the second family listed, Helvetica.

Font Face="FindMeIfYouCan, Helvetica"
